Prince William Will Participate in UN Climate Conference in Brazil
The Prince of Wales plans to participate in the United Nations climate conference in Brazil next month, according to the royal household.
Prince William and King Charles made a joint appearance on Thursday night at a event leading up to the environmental conference, which is scheduled to take place in the northern Brazilian city of Belém.
Father and son were in attendance at the scientific institution event, marking an unusual joint appearance at a pre-COP30 gathering organized in partnership with the UK government.
Environmental Advocacy Dedication
The King has been a longstanding advocate of biodiversity preservation - and Prince William has inherited the mission, with his own climate innovation awards, which will be hosted in Rio preceding the climate conference.
Palace insiders have described William's involvement at the forthcoming conference as stepping up an significant responsibility in "environmental negotiations".
Recent Engagements
The monarch and his heir, making a joint entrance in the state Bentley, were welcomed guests including environmentalists, scientists, environmental activists, diplomats and politicians.
This engagement featured addresses together with French leader Macron of France and other global statesmen at the Ocean Finance Summit in Monaco earlier this year.

The UN meeting will dovetail with the the royal's sustainability recognition program, which will wrap up in Rio de Janeiro the previous day he joins the COP summit on November 6th.
Recently the prince characterized the prize competitors as "contemporary champions".

The King has been a prominent presence at earlier environmental conferences, delivering the inaugural speech in the United Arab Emirates for COP28, including the reminder: "We are custodians of the planet, not its owners".
"Throughout my life I've dedicated a significant amount of my life trying to raise awareness about the survival risks challenging our world over global warming, climate change and species extinction," the monarch informed delegates.
