Kansas City Chiefs Acknowledge Alleged Abuse Allegations Involving Player the Athlete
The NFL franchise released a comment Wednesday night confirming they are aware of domestic violence allegations circulated in social media posts by a former girlfriend of player the athlete and were in communication with the NFL.
The team did not mention the player specifically in their statement and noted they would have “nothing more to add at this time”.

The woman, who likewise did not name Rice directly, posted a set of images on Instagram that seemed to depict signs of physical abuse. Jones stated the individual in question was the parent of her kids, and reports indicate she has kids with Rice, whom the Chiefs selected in the second round.

No police reports were available in the Kansas City suburb where the incident is said to have occurred.
Player's Recent Legal Issues
Rice missed the first six games of this NFL campaign due to an NFL suspension for his role in causing a crash on a Dallas highway that resulted in several individuals injured. He was given a month of incarceration and five years’ probation after pleading guilty to felony charges.
On the field, Rice concluded the season with 53 receptions for 571 yards and five TDs as the Kansas City finished with a losing record and failed to qualify for the postseason for the first time in a ten-year span.
