Discover Twenty-Nine Fresh Cards from Magic's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Set (Including a Commander-Style Precon Deck!)

The world's favorite pizza-eating superheroes are making their way to Magic: The Gathering. The well-known trading card game's company, the game's creators, announced a highly anticipated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration at a special panel held at NYCC. Is this a exciting addition or yet another crossover cash grab? Let you be the judge.

Take a look here at everything revealed from the Magic x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, including key background. Everything listed here launches on March 6th, 2026, with one exception — the Pizza Bundle drops a couple of weeks after on March 27th.

Magic x TMNT: Core Set Cards

Before we get into the many special decks and bundles on offer, let’s take a look at the full lineup from the main Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set that were revealed by the developers. Standard booster packs for the set are set at $6.99 per pack, while Collector Boosters should run $37.99 per pack.

Let’s explore a couple of shell-shocking details. To begin, there's a new mechanic called Sneak, inspired by the pre-existing Ninjutsu, in which players can cheat big creatures onto the battlefield when an attacker isn’t blocked. The big difference in this case is that Sneak can affect spells that aren’t creatures as well. The designers also took the opportunity to refine the ability a bit (It counts as playing a spell, as opposed to Ninjutsu). The original ability is staying, but chances are we'll see Sneak in future sets moving forward.

Should we were to return to Kamigawa, it’s possible we’d use the original ability since that plane is it was developed and it’s a hallmark of that world,” an experienced designer explained. “However in other settings, because the rules are cleaner and Sneak will be Standard-legal, it's more likely we’ll use the updated version.”

Another version of Leonardo, Sewer Samurai card, is among four special cards with special art created specifically for the set by Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles original artist Kevin Eastman.

Additionally, if you're shocked by the rules text on Turtles Forever card, which lets you play cards outside of your deck, many players were. Yet according to the developers, it’s now a legal card in all formats of Magic.

In any case, here are the extremely bizarre full-art lands from this set:

As per the company’s existing guidelines, these cards are all legal in Magic’s Standard format. The designers state they took care to make sure the cards and mechanics worked smoothly with other Standard sets such as Edge of Eternities.

“I headed the development for over a year and we knew it was going to be Standard-legal and what other sets were going to be alongside it in Standard,” the designer commented. “We designed to make sure that they work well with certain expansions including Edge of Eternities.”

As an instance, both TMNT and Edge of Eternities feature a Izzet strategy focused on artifact cards.

“They mesh together to provide the components for a enjoyable Standard deck,” the designer added.

Commander Deck: Turtle Power

Following a decision to design any Commander precons for the Spider-Man set and the forthcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender collaborations, the company is reversing course with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. This time it’s just a single precon, but it includes six different legendary creatures that can serve as your Commander based on how you combine them (five cards include a unique partner ability called “Character Select” that lets you start with two commanders in the command area instead of only one). Take a look below:

This Commander deck is set at $69.99, though the price may rise based on demand. Sources indicated that it contains 43 new cards in total, which means an extra 37 Turtle-themed game cards in addition to the six legendary creatures shown above. (Calculating roughly, that also means approximately 20 reprinted cards if we estimate the deck includes 37 lands.)

What will the Turtles version of the iconic Sol Ring look like? We’ll just have to wait and see.

Standard Bundle (Regular)

Typically, the company is selling a collection. It is priced at $69.99 and contains the listed items:

  • Nine Play Boosters
  • 15 Foil basic lands
  • Fifteen Regular basic lands
  • Two Reference cards
  • 1 Foil promotional card
  • 1 Large spindown life counter
  • One storage box

Pizza Bundle

Here’s a unique concept for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, primarily because it comes in what looks like a pizza box. Every Pizza Bundle is priced at $99.99 and includes the items below:

  • 9 Standard Boosters
  • 1 Collector Booster
  • 25 Non-foil pizza-themed lands
  • 5 Traditional foil pizza-themed lands
  • Two Traditional foil pizza bundle promotional cards
  • 2 helper cards
  • One Large life tracker
  • One Card-storage box

For those curious about the “Pizza Bundle promo card” is, it’s essentially a reprint of an older card featuring brand-new Turtle-themed artwork. Wizards revealed an example for the popular Magic card Dark Ritual depicting Splinter adding toppings onto a pizza slice. In total, there are six distinct Pizza Bundle promo cards in total.

The Pizza Bundle launches a couple of weeks later than the core set on March 27, 2026.

Draft Night

This special bundle is designed for a four-player draft and costs $119.99. That will get you:

  • 12 Play Boosters (ideal for a group of four to draft)
  • One Collector Booster (also known as, the reward for coming in first)
  • Ninety Regular land cards (to build your deck)
  • 10 Non-foil double-sided tokens
  • One drafting guide (a one-sheet guide to drafting this expansion)

Turtle Team-Up

Lastly, the developers are introducing a new concept with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as part of its ongoing effort to develop Magic game products aimed at beginners. Here, Turtle Team-Up is a special set of prebuilt decks that let you and a friend team up to face a “Boss” deck that pilots itself.

The general idea here that each Boss card grants special abilities to the creature cards contained in the boss deck. The Boss automatically casts one other card each turn, and you’ll start off battling {one Boss|
