American-Palestinian Teenager Liberated After 270 Days in Israeli Custody

A American-Palestinian adolescent who spent a nine-month period in Israeli detention without being charged has been freed.

Mohammed Ibrahim had just turned 15 when he was arrested in February in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, while he was vacationing while residing in Florida for allegedly throwing stones against settlement residents, claims he consistently denied.

American diplomatic officials applauded the teenager's freedom.

Currently aged sixteen, required hospitalization for treatment immediately after release, according to close relatives.

They said he is visibly pale and thin, and is suffering from conditions developed during imprisonment.

In a statement, family spokesperson spoke of the family's "tremendous relief".

Family member Zeyad Kadur said the family had been "enduring a dreadful, continuous nightmare" over the last nine months.

"Currently, our priority is getting Mohammed the immediate medical attention he needs after experiencing harsh conditions and brutal treatment for months."

US officials stated they would maintain to provide consular support to the teenager's relatives.

A group of American legislators had signed a letter to diplomatic officials and the administration, demanding more be done to release him.

The father, parent of four children who runs an ice cream business in Florida, had earlier stated his child admitted guilt regarding stone throwing after being assaulted by soldiers.

The father hadn't visited or communicated with his son since February, and only heard what had happened to him in detention through court documents.

He stayed lacking indictment within Ofer penitentiary in the West Bank.
